runningracingdancingchasing asked:

I LOVE "Busted"! I love the animation, and I love the aftermath story boards! Do you have any intention of animating a second part?

adrien-gromelle:

Hi and thank you,

About BUSTED
(not just for you but also for every anonymous people who asked)

unfortunately as I said earlier on tumblr I will not animate a second part, it takes too much time
(around 3 month for something like Busted if I work 8h per day 7day/7)

I’m working in an animation studio every day so I can’t find the time and the money to work that long for free.
that’s why I do the aftermath in drawings, to continue to share this story, but not in animation.
I’ll continue to post drawings until the story is finished ”THERE” editing this post approximatively every day.

why not in animation ? I could take my time right ?!

I have enough time to do one rough drawing each day, imagine than it would need 24 drawings to do one second of animation.
with one drawing per day, if I want to tell this story in 2 minutes of animation (without any colour and background in a rough style) it would take me 2880 days, so a bit more than 8 years…^^

So I will start other animations (probably some fan art of Disney and others) but not about this precise story.

but see the good side !
at the end instead of just sharing with you ONE story with Aladdin and Flynn, in 8 years I will share a lot of different stories (even maybe some with Rapunzel and Flynn or Aladdin again) with some parts in animations and others in drawings.
Isn’t it great ?!

and this is the drawing of the day !

you should do some rapunzel and eugeme animations! they're so cute together and you're so very talented! we would love more of them being adorable!

thank you and I’d like to.

unfortunately it takes a lot of time to do animation, imagine that I started the Aladdin animation in Busted in 2012.
at the end if I would have worked non stop to do it, it would have taken me 2 month and half maybe 3 (8h per day, 7days a week and for free).
but I can’t stop working for 3 month just to work at home for free, so I do that kind of stuffs on my free time…

but maybe… something shorter without colour and background.

pyrochick asked:

what animation program do you use and what do you think of it? love your stuff.

First thank you ^^
To do animatics I use Flash (cause the symbol system is pretty cool to do camera stuffs).
photoshop for BG.
After effect for the compositing.
For animation I mostly use TVPaint, a French animation software (exist of course in English)
honestly I can’t imagine a better software for traditional animation, it just seams perfect…it’s easy to flip from key to key or frame to frame, you can use the lightbox in many different ways, it’s much efficient than flash or photoshop for the colour.
so yeah… I think the future of traditional animation is in TVPaint ;)
